About the game

Hold the perfect racing line while a mirrored city rebuilds beneath your wheels.

Chrome Rally is a precision time trial with weighty steering and a road that assembles in motion. Clip apex gates, manage boost, and finish three increasingly unstable laps without falling into the glass city.

The steering carries real inertia, which is the point. The car does not stop turning when you release the key, so every corner is entered slightly before it looks correct and unwound slightly before the exit. Players arriving from arcade racers usually oversteer for the first lap and then never again — the adjustment is quick, and it is what the whole game is built on.

Boost comes only from clipping apex gates, so it is a reward for line quality rather than a resource you spend freely. Using it on a straight is almost always wrong; using it out of a well-taken corner compounds, because the next gate arrives while you still hold the line.

The road rebuilds ahead of you and grows less stable each lap. Lap three is not faster so much as less forgiving of a line you have not already committed to.

How to play

Steer with the arrow keys, A and D, or by touch. Pass through the coral checkpoint gates close to the apex to build boost, and complete three laps before the timer reaches zero.

Leaving the road drains integrity; running out ends the run.

Steering carries inertia, so turn in earlier than looks right and start unwinding before the exit. Save boost for corner exits rather than straights — the speed carries into the next gate and pays for itself. Each lap the road becomes less stable, so treat lap one as the place to learn the line rather than to set a time.
