About the game

Map the anomalies of a universe that exists only inside your field of view.

Zero Cartographer is an observation game about attention rather than speed. Sweep a survey lens across the void, identify fleeting anomalies, and commit their positions to a map before the universe rearranges itself.

Only what is inside the lens exists. Everything outside it is genuinely unrendered rather than merely hidden, which means the game is not testing whether you can spot something on a busy screen — it is testing whether you can remember where you have already looked. That is a different and much rarer skill, and it is why a systematic sweep beats a fast one.

Anomalies need a moment inside the lens before they stabilise enough to chart. Holding still on a promising patch of void feels wrong and is almost always right; the players who struggle are usually the ones moving the lens continuously and never letting anything resolve.

The map resets on a timer rather than on a mistake, so there is no punishment for a wrong identification beyond the seconds it cost. Eight anomalies is achievable on a first attempt with a slow, deliberate pass.

How to play

Move the survey lens with the mouse or by touch to reveal hidden space. When an anomaly stabilises inside the lens, click to chart it.

Chart eight anomalies before the map resets.

Space outside the lens is not rendered at all, so the real task is remembering where you have already swept — move in a deliberate pattern rather than chasing movement. Anomalies need a moment inside the lens before they can be charted, so holding still on a promising region is usually faster than sweeping continuously, even though it feels slower.
